"You have to love yourself enough to know that you need help and there is no shame in it by the way... I lost 15kgs in one month and was so happy. Now 1.5 years later the only regret I have is not doing this earlier."

1.

Life Before Gastric Bypass

"For about 4 years, I had been trying to lose weight through every means possible. I had turns of support from gym trainers, I had tried dieting but I kept losing and regaining weight. I was not happy with my body and how people would comment online being a TV host."

"I went through cyber bullying because of my weight. At some point after a tragic year, I gained so much weight 150kgs developed blood pressure and cholesterol issues that my doctor reccommended bariatric surgery. It was a mental challenge at first before making a decision but I knew this was about me and my body."

"I needed it because my blood pressure was high, my cholesterol was high. It was now a matter of taking care of my health because now I had a junior and also just for myself."

2.

My Nairobi Bariatric Experience

"I learnt about Nairobi Bariatric from a friend who had done the gastric balloon, I then checked out the other services offered at the center and I got interested. Nairobi Bariatric gave me the information I wanted and answered all my questions."

"I was sold also because they had been around for 15 years at the time with over 1000 bariatric surgery sucess stories. It was also important for me to have aftercare and to be close to home; their team is very professional and support has been incredible."

3.

Life After Gastric Bypass

"In May 2022, I did the Gastric Bypass Surgery, I was 164 kgs at the time. I stayed in the hospital for 3 days. I appreciate Nairobi Bariatric team for always being on call during the the first month and even beyond that."

"They also give you these recipe books with clear instructions on what to eat and what to do at every stage, so you are not left to do this thing alone after the surgery. You know it almost feels like when you wear a warm jacket, that fuzzy feeling of I’m being taken of."

"I lost 15kgs in one month and was so happy. Now 1.5 years later the only regret I have is not doing this earlier. I have lost 40 kgs so far and I can shop anywhere I want because they have my size."

"What i would tell anyone looking to have this surgery is you have to decide and know that you are doing this for yourself. You are the only one that carries your body around, you don’t get a break from it."

"You have to love yourself enough to know that you need help, i know it is a bit pricey but if you think about how much it would cost if you got a heart attack it’s even more expensive. I am actually proud i did this procedure."
